Most teens tend to do their shopping for that perfect stunning dress with a friend. The perfect gown needs a perfect hairstyle to complete the look beautifully.

It is the ideal time to create excitement on the top of the head with a flawless prom hairstyle. Although ponytails are an every-day look, they are actually perfect for prom as well if done right. Secure the hair in a high ponytail, pulling a few strands out. This creates a soft yet spiky look. If sticking to a single ponytail, gemmed clasps or pins can be used to create a separated look with multiple strands. This is an ideal prom hairstyle for a chic and elegant look.

Another option for a ponytail-based hairstyle is to separate the ponytail into two sections. The knots created can then be pinned to the head using crystal hairpins or shortsticks. Use a ribbon in a matching color to the prom dress to accentuate a ponytail look. Then weave the chosen ribbon through the hair to achieve a crisscross effect.
